Vill puffa för en amerikansk film som heter: Beyond the Myth: A Film About Breed Discrimination som har premiär i höst. Denna film hoppas jag kan spridas till Skandinavien som ett inlägg i debatten. Se trailern där hundägare berättar hur myndigheterna ringt på hemma och beslagtagit deras hundar – för att hundrasen blivit förbjuden i staten.

Massavlivar de hundarna – vad gör de annars med dessa oönskade raser?  I USA – där handeldvapen är så lätta att köpa lagligt att det tom står i Grundlagen. Massavlivningar har jag bara hört om sker i Kina där de har ihjäl mängder av hundar varje dag.
USA – The Land of Freedom?

Jag älskar hundar men ömmar särskilt för de missförstådda hundraserna som jag generellt inte ser som svårare att rehabilitera än andra. Nackdelen är att dessa hundraser kanske i större utsträckning blivit felhanterade, hetsats skadligt för att trigga aggressivitet och blir omplacerade av olika orsaker. För att ägaren inte hanterar dem rätt, för att det inom vissa mer socialt instabila kretsar blivit poppis med en muskelhund vid sin sida och att hunden sen inte kan tas omhand pga sociala orsaker som inte beror på hunden.

Men detta är inte ett hundproblem – det är ett ägarproblem som de säger i trailern. Hundens mentala status beror mycket på fostrarens stabilitet precis som i alla ledarskapsfrågor med hundar.

Berättar mer i mitt inlägg om Kamphund = muskelhundar?. Man kallar ofta muskulösa hundar för kamphundar eller tom mördarhundar pga av deras utseende och ursprung. Men används inte en hund i kamp är det ingen kamphund.

Thomas Ryding har i polishundförartidningen skrivit ett mycket utredande inlägg kring dessa raser med försök till objektiv analys – som jag tycker han lyckats mycket bra med. Ska du läsa något om dessa hundar så läs detta. Även Thomas Ryding ser att fördomarna är ett hundägarproblem, inte hundarnas fel – med det är dem som drabbas. Och i förbudsläge är det fina hundar och skötsamma ägare som drabbas värst av att få en familjemedlem brutalt bortsliten – mot ett grymt öde som ingen av dem har förtjänat. Ren massbestraffning.

Det måste finnas andra sätt – värdigare en civiliserad stat?

Massavlivar the dogs – what do they do otherwise with these unwanted species? In the U.S. – where the arms are so easy to buy legally that it is empty under the law of the constitution. Mass killing, I have only heard about in China where they kill masses of dogs every day. USA – The Land of Freedom?

I love dogs but cares especially for these misunderstood breeds that I generally do not see more difficult to rehabilitate than others. The disadvantage is that these breeds may become more mishandled, incited harmful to trigger aggression and become shelter dogs – for various reasons. As when the owner can not handle them right, and for some more socially unstable people it has become trendy with muscular dogs. The social uncertainty can contribute to that the dogs can not stay with the current owner.

But this is not a dog problem – it is an ownership problem as they say in the trailer. The dog’s mental state depends on the owners stability – as in all leadership issues with dogs.

Thomas Ryding has in the Swedish Police Magazine written a very good and objective analysis. If you want to read anything about these dogs: read this. Even Thomas Ryding see that this is a dog owner problem, not the dogs fault – which are the innocent victims. At a race ban situation, it is well-behaved dogs and good owners who suffer the most of  gettin a family member brutally torn away to a cruel destiny. Which is not deserved. Pure mass punishment.

There must be other ways – worthy of a civilized state?
